Jesus' ministry was spent going out to where the people lived, in their homes, in their communities. At St John's we do so much more than just work inside the church building. On this page you will find information on our work with young people; our Vicar's role as Chaplain to the College of West Anglia and the Air Cadets; and so much more. We hope to expand this part of the website to give you a glimpse into the working life of St John's.
St John's Mission Support. St John’s raises money and gives a proportion of income to various people and agencies who we also aim to support in prayer and through correspondence. You can read more about the organisations by following visiting the links page. Members of our congregation also have links with the Anglican Church in Majorca.
Would you like to get involved with St John's on a more 'hands on' level, contact us today for more information.
St John's, a flexible space for the community. 2006 saw the last of the main body of pews being removed from the church. This enabled us to develop not only a flexible worship space, but also a space for community events. In 2008 we launched our first ever Christmas Tree Festival, supporting many charities and schools within the town. We are always looking for new and fresh ways of bringing people into church; take a look at our efforts from last year's Christmas Tree Festival.
Chaplaincy is a formal arrangement for ministry within a particular organisation
Corin Child, the vicar of St John’s, has two official roles as chaplain – one to the College of West Anglia (King’s Lynn campus), and the other to the local squadron of the Air Training Corps.
Although chaplaincy takes time and effort – getting to know the people, culture and procedures of a different organisation – it has the great advantage of taking church to where people already are.
Prayer is a focal point of all our daily lives. We welcome you to submit your prayers online.
We have two meetings during the week especially for prayer. We also pray during services on Sunday and we publish a prayer list for the week. If you would like us to pray for somebody or something, you can use the online prayer request form by clicking the link below.

At St John's we do our very best to welcome children and teenagers.
We believe that a church has a great deal to say to those who are discovering new things about the world every day. God has created a world that is full of spark and stimulus, and we try to reflect that in our activities.

Young people are encouraged to take an active part in adult services and groups at St John’s. They are involved in playing music, reading, and leading prayers. They have even been known to lead the service!
